Mortgage Secondary & Servicing Associate

Department: Secondary Marketing
Location: Reston, VA

Guidance Residential, LLC is a strong, growing company that specializes in residential mortgage lending.  Our team members are a vital strength in our ability to grow and continue to serve our customers.

We currently have an opening for a full-time entry-level Secondary and Servicing Associate who will perform administrative, data entry, and reporting tasks to expedite the closing of home financing transactions.  We are looking for an honest, ambitious, hard-working person with a great work ethic and a positive attitude.  As a member of the Secondary & Servicing team, the incumbent will collaborate with other members to provide an internal and external customer experience that is consistent with the goals of GR, as well as meet the needs of the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs administrative & data entry tasks in the Servicing & Secondary departments.
  • Prepares and distributes daily rate sheets
  • Enters investor sales information into various systems
  • Handles daily lock requests through the investor system and through input of information into the Loan Origination System
  • Adheres to Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and other investor delivery manuals and guidelines
  • Prepares reports such as Daily Rate & Margin Tracking, Daily Locks, Expiring Locks, and Market Comparison Survey Report
  • Uploads daily Purchase Advice from investor systems to warehouse bank systems in order to clear funds
  • Assists team members in researching and documenting processes and procedures
  • Adheres to best practices in an effort to achieve corporate pricing objectives on locks
  • Provide coverage for other team members in the event of scheduled and unscheduled absences.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance preferred; one to two (1-2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum one to two (1-2) years' solid experience in a fast-paced environment or professional office setting with proven skills in customer service, data entry, and general administrative follow-up.  Experience in a mortgage lending environment is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong Excel skills with emphasis on reporting and spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.

Aside from the requirements above, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in exceptional follow-up and customer service, and must be able to prioritize multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met.  Must also be able to demonstrate initiative and use independent judgment within Guidance's established guidelines and procedures.
