IT Report Analyst

We are seeking a full-time IT Reporting Analyst

Job Summary:

The IT Reporting Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining insightful reports and dashboards that provide critical information to Business leadership and stakeholders. This role involves extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from various Business systems (e.g., Mortgage Originations/CRM, Loan Servicing System, financial systems, Human Resources) to produce critical reports and dashboards including identifying trends, measuring performance, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, and a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights. Proficient in the mortgage industry, with a focus on leveraging sales, operations, and secondary business data for insightful reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report Development & Maintenance:
    • Design, develop, and implement accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using various reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL Reporting Services).
    • Gather requirements from business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
    • Maintain and update existing reports to ensure data accuracy, relevance, and optimal performance.
    • Automate reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation:
    • Collect, clean, and validate data from disparate IT systems and data sources.
    • Analyze IT operational data (e.g., incident metrics, service request volumes, change success rates, project health, resource utilization, budget vs. actuals) to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
    • Interpret complex data sets and present findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track IT performance and progress towards strategic goals.
  • Data Governance & Quality:
    • Contribute to data governance initiatives, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting.
    • Identify and resolve data discrepancies or quality issues.
    • Document data definitions, report logic, and data sources.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with IT teams (e.g., Infrastructure, Applications, Service Desk, Project Management Office) to understand their data needs and provide tailored reporting solutions.
    • Collaborate with business units to understand their IT-related reporting requirements.
    • Train users on how to access and interpret reports and dashboards.
    • Present findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest reporting tools, technologies, and best practices.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities and data analysis processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in an IT reporting, data analyst, or business intelligence role, preferably within an IT department.
    • Proven experience developing reports and dashboards for IT operations, project management, or service management.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in at least one major Business Intelligence (BI) tool (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
    • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, charting).
    • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and their reporting capabilities is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
    • Understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and operations.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • A strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts.
  • Certifications in relevant BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
  • Experience with cloud-based reporting platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS QuickSight).
